I'll campaign all over country if needed: Priyanka Monday, April 26 2004 14:30 Hrs (IST)
Rae Bareilly:
After hectic campaigning in her mother Sonia Gandhi's Rae Bareilly Lok Sabha constituency where elections were held today (Apr 26, 2004), Priyanka Vadra said she was ready to campaign in other parts of the country if the Congress party wanted so.
"Agar party chahti hai ki main jaoon to main jaoongi," (if the party wants, I will go), Priyanka on being asked whether she was going to campaign all over the country.
On her complaint to the Election Commission apprehending trouble during polling, she said, "As of now, it is alright. In one booth, our agent said that someone threatened him. Otherwise, things look okay...but we have to wait till the end of the day to see how things shape up."
On what impressions she carried of Rae Bareilly and Amethi from where her brother Rahul Gandhi is contesting, she said, "I have not gone to Amethi today. I am campaigning only here. There is a lot of difference in the party. Five years back, the organisation was weak. But in these five years, it has been strengthened."
Asked about the expectation this time in Rae Bareilly, she said it was "good". Priyanka said that she had got a good response wherever she went and was confident that her mother would win with a big margin.
