Ex-minister Dar escapes unhurt in militant attack Tuesday, April 27 2004 18:57 Hrs (IST)

Former Union Minister and independent candidate from Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency Mohammad Maqbool Dar today (Apr 27, 2004) escaped unhurt in a militant attack on his vehicle during campaigning in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said militants attacked Dar's vehicle opening fire at it in Wachi village around 3.50 pm following which his police guards retaliated.
The sources said Dar escaped unhurt in the attack.
Police reinforcements were rushed to the scene and further details were awaited, they said.
Anantnag goes to polls in the third phase of elections on May 5.
