New Delhi: Two terrorist-turned-criminals were killed in an encounter with police in a North Delhi area early this morning (Apr 29, 2004), a senior police official said.

Jagtar Singh Jagga of Punjab and Parminder Singh Ranga of Rajasthan were killed in the encounter with crime branch sleuths at around 04:30 hrs (IST) in Timarpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Dependra Pathak said.

Two pistols and a Maruti car were recovered from them, he said.

The duo had been involved in terrorist activities in Punjab earlier and were at present carrying kidnappings for ransom, he added.

Jagga and Ranga had last month kidnapped a businessman from Sonepat in Haryana.
