Kalam to visit LoC to review fencing work Thursday, April 29 2004 14:15 Hrs (IST)

Following his visit to the world's highest battlefield Siachen, President A P J Abdul Kalam is now all set to visit the Line of Control and Northern Command headquarters to review the border fencing work and assess the post-ceasefire scenario in Rajouri-Poonch and Udhampur areas of Jammu and Kashmir on May 3.
Kalam will arrive at Udhampur Northern Command headquarters on May 3, where top Army brass in J&K would receive him, official sources said today (Apr 29, 2004).
Kalam would visit 'Aasha', a school for handicapped children run by the Army wives welfare association (AWWA).
He would later visit the NC military hospital and meet the injured soldiers. The President is also scheduled to visit the Army preparatory school in Udhampur.
With the Indo-Pak border ceasefire entering its sixth month, Kalam will also review the border fencing work in progress with top Army brass in Udhampur, official sources said.
The President would fly to Line of Control in Rajouri-Poonch belt, where apart from reviewing the border fencing work he would address soldiers at forward posts and would also take part in bada khana with them.
This is Kalam's second visit to J&K this year and fourth since taking over as President.
