BJP has made only its men prosperous: Sonia Thursday, April 29 2004 20:44 Hrs (IST)
Mahendragarh (Haryana):
Congress president Sonia Gandhi today (Apr 29, 2004) sought to ridicule Vajpayee Government's 'India Shining' campaign saying, "They have made only their men prosperous and it would have been better had the money spent on the blitz been used for development work."
Addressing an election rally in Mahendragarh, she termed as "misleading" the "Shining India" campaign launched by the Centre and said no section of the society was shining.
"Had the money spent on Shining India advertisement campaign been spent on other development works it would have been better for the country," she said.
Gandhi alleged Vajpayee dispensation and Om Prakash Chautala Government had "failed" on all fronts and people of the country and of Haryana have been subjected to "misrule".
She accused the Centre and Chautala Government of being anti-farmer, anti-youth, anti-trader and anti-Dalit. "They have only made their own people prosperous," the Congress president charged.
Congress, she said, was committed to ensuring all-round development of the country and betterment of the masses.
