Ayodhya: Govt nod sought for temple, mosque project Friday, April 30 2004 20:53 Hrs (IST)
Ayodhya:
A resident of Ayodhya, who had offered land to construct a Ram temple and a mosque near the disputed site two days ago, today (Apr 30, 2004) sought permission from the Government for the project.
Shivendra Pratap Sahi, who offered two plots of 50 acres each for the construction of the two places of worship, told reporters that he has submitted an application to District Magistrate, Faizabad, today (Apr 30, 2004) seeking permission for the project.
Sahi, who holds title of the acquired land near disputed site in Ayodhya, said his Raj Rajeshwari Sitaram Trust was in touch with the State Government for the project.
Releasing photo copies of the letters of two former Prime Ministers -- Chandrashekhar and V P Singh -- who had supported the proposal, to reporters, Sahi said that the project has nothing to do with Ram Janambhumi Babri Mosque dispute, which was pending before the court and the trust has chosen a suitable land away from the acquired land.
