Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh Minister and an accused in the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case, Amarmani Tripathi, who was granted bail by the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on April 29, was today (May 1, 2004) released from the district jail.

Special Judicial Magistrate (CBI) Shivani Jaiswal ordered Tripathi's release from jail after his lawyers pleaded for acceptance of the sureties furnished by him.
