Concentrate on Chief Ministership, Mahajan tells Mulayam Saturday, May 1 2004 12:22 Hrs (IST)
Mainpuri (UP):
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Pramod Mahajan today (Apr 30, 2004) asked Samajwadi Party (SP) president Mulayam Singh Yadav to concentrate on the Chief Ministership of the State and let his BJP opponent from here be elected to the Lok Sabha.
"As Yadav can not become the Prime Minister of the country it will be better for him to continue as the Chief Minister of the State and allow his BJP opponent Balram Yadav to gain entry into the Lok Sabha," Mahajan said while addressing an election rally.
Mulayam Singh Yadav is in the fray from Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat as an SP candidate and his BJP opponent is former Union Minister Balram Yadav.
Training his gun on Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Mahajan said that he did not want to say anything about her as whenever he said something about her it was taken as "personal attack".
He said that even for the post of a peon the educational qualifications and experience were asked but when he asked Gandhi, who is a Prime Ministerial candidate, about her education and experience, she termed it as "personal attack".
