Rabri blasts NDA; says Sonia will be next PM Saturday, May 1 2004 21:03 Hrs (IST)
Forbesganj (Bihar):
Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi today (May 1, 2004) took a dig at the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for its diatribe against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and claimed that she would become the next Prime minister replacing Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
"Soniaji is the most suitable candidate for the top post of the PM for which we will make all possible efforts," Rabri Devi told an election rally.
Castigating the NDA leaders for describing Sonia as a foreigner, she said it will be "a slap on the face of the communal forces the day Soniaji takes oath as PM".
She came down heavily on the Centre for not providing special financial package for Bihar after the creation of Jharkhand.
Terming the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as "anti-poor and anti-farmer," Rabri Devi alleged that the saffron party had done "precious little" for the betterment of the country other than spreading communal hatred.
