Lt Gen K M Seth takes over as acting Governor of MP

Bhopal: Chhattisgarh Governor Lt Gen K M Seth was today (May 2, 2004) sworn in as the acting Governor of Madhya Pradesh.

Seth was administered the oath of office by the officiating Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court Rajiv Gupta at a ceremony in Raj Bhawan this morning.

In view of passing away of former Governor Ram Prakash Gupta yesterday (May 1, 2004), President A P J Abdul Kalam had asked Seth to discharge the functions of the Governor of Madhya Pradesh in addition to his own duties.

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti, Energy Minister Gauri Shankar Shejwar and several other dignitaries, including senior officials were present on the occasion.

Soon after taking oath, Seth held discussion with senior officials of the State Government.
