4 injured in grenade attack on PDP candidate's house Monday, May 3 2004 18:17 Hrs (IST)

At least four persons including a photo journalist were injured as militants hurled a hand-grenade on the residential quarter of ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate from Baramulla Parliamentary constituency Nizamuddin Bhat at press enclave in the heart of Srinagar today (May 3, 2004), official sources said.
Bhat was not in the house when the device was hurled on the Government quarter, which also houses the offices of several newspapers, they said.
The sources said the grenade was lobbed around 16:15 hours (IST) and exploded outside the boundary wall of Bhat's quarter.
A photo journalist Habibullah Naqash of 'Asian Age' and three others were injured in the explosion which caused panic among media persons as most of the vernacular newspaper offices are located there and journalists working for various national and international news organisations also live in it.
The injured were immediately rushed to hospital and their condition was stated to be stable, the sources said.
