Rajasthan Cong leader, 2 others killed in accident

Jaipur: Rajya Sabha member and executive president of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee Abrar Ahmed and two others died in a road accident in Tonk district early today (May 4, 2004), police said.

The accident occurred when the car, in which Ahmed was travelling from Jaipur to Jhalwar, collided head on near Devali, seven kms from Tonk, at around 4 hrs (IST), Tonk Superintendent of Police Janardan Sharma said.

The deceased include Ahmed's driver and an aide, he said adding the Congress leader's personal security officer was also injured in the accident and admitted to the Tonk hospital.
