Thursday, May 6 2004 14:25 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested a suspected Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) agent from a South Delhi locality.

Mohammad Qamran, hailing from Bihar, was nabbed from Malviya Nagar area last night (May 5, 2004) by the sleuths of Special Cell, DCP (SC) Ashok Chand said.

Qamran was held on charges of passing on information to ISI about troop movement in East and Northeastern regions of the country, he said.

The suspected ISI agent had allegedly been to Pakistan and undergone training there, Chand said.

Two days ago, Central Investigative Department (CID) officials had arrested two alleged ISI agents, suspected to be associates of Qamran, in West Bengal and recovered documents including information regarding an Army cantonment in North Bengal and the Barauni oil refinery from them.
