No chance of "any third front" emerging: Advani
Friday, May 7 2004 18:59 Hrs (IST)

Thiruvananthapuram: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today (May 7, 2004) said he was confident that the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) would form the Government getting majority on its own and saw no possibility of 'any third front' emerging after the Lok Sabha polls.

"I am confident that the NDA will be able to form the Government with the majority of its own. I don't think there is any possibility of any third front," Advani said during a brief chat with reporters at the airport in Thiruvananthapuram on his arrival for campaigning for Union minister O Rajagopal, the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) candidate in the State capital.

Advani, who passed through parts of Kerala during the first leg of his Bharat Uday Yatra, said he was happy that at the end of 60 days, he was back here, campaigning in the constituency.

"I recall that I started my election campaign in the form of a yatra from here (nearby Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu). I think, at the end of the 60 days I am back again here and going to Thiruvananthapuram constituency and tomorrow I shall be going to Pondicherry," he said.

When journalists pressed for his assessment of the situation, Advani said, "I am meeting the press formally tomorrow."
