Chandrababu Naidu wins from Kuppam at ease

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today (May 11, 2004) won from Kuppam Assembly constituency, defeating his Congress rival M Subramanayam Reddy by 59,588 votes.

Counting has been completed but the details of the votes polled are awaited. It was a triangular contest in which Naganna Alias Sastri was contesting as an independent.

In the 1999 Assembly polls, Naidu had got 74.42 per cent of the votes polled and defeated Reddy by 65,687 votes.
