Early trends give mixed signals, saffron trails
Thursday, May 13 2004 08:36 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Early trends from counting of votes in the Lok Sabha elections project a stiff fight for Bharatiya janata Party (BJP) against a resurgent Congress with the saffron front trailing at 12 against Congress' 26.

"Others" were ahead in eight seats.

Trends from Rajasthan indicated that BJP was holding on to its position while Congress was ahead in Kerala, Andhra and in Tamil Nadu along with its allies.
