New Delhi: With Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies emerging as the single largest group in a hung Karnataka Assembly, the party has asked Arun Jaitley to rush to Bangalore to "guide them" in the exploration of possibilities in forming a Government there.

BJP president Venkiah Naidu, emerging from a meeting of top National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders at the Prime Minister's residence said, "The voters of Karnataka have rejected Congress."

"Though no single party is getting absolute majority on its own, it is the BJP and its allies which is ahead of others. That is why we have asked Arun Jaitley to visit Karnataka and guide them in the exploration of possibilities to form Government," he added.

On Orissa, he said the picture was much clearer and the party had asked Pramod Mahajan to go to Bhubanewswar to work out the modalities for formation of a BJD-BJP Government.
