NPFs Konyak leading in Nagaland's lone LS seat
Thursday, May 13 2004 15:42 Hrs (IST)

Kohima: Wangyuh Konyak of NPF is heading for a landslide victory in the election to the lone Parliamentary seat in Nagaland.

Konyak is leading over his closest rival, K Asungba Sangtam, of the Congress by over three lakh votes till last reports came in.

Official sources said that the counting of votes in 43 Assembly segments out of the total 60 was completed, but the formal announcement of results might be slightly delayed due to communication bottlenecks with the headquarters of three newly created districts where the counting was on.
