Naidu likens NDA to laddu, Congress to namkeen Friday, May 14 2004 18:03 Hrs (IST)

A gourmet known for entertaining his guests with lavish menu, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president M Venkaiah Naidu today (May 14, 2004) likened Congress to salty snacks some people like to taste after eating sweets (National Democratic Alliance).
"After taking 3-4 laddus, some people like to eat some namkeen," Naidu said in his first press conference after NDA's debacle in the Lok Sabha polls.
In tune with the current mood, Naidu's lunch-time media meet today was not followed by a sumptuous South Indian fare unlike in the past and the menu was confined to idlis and vadas.
