A woman cannot stand another, says Laloo Sunday, May 16 2004 18:38 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi:
"A woman can't stand another. Beauty and virtue of other women rubs her the wrong way," said Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Laloo Prasad Yadav taking a swipe at senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj.
Ridiculing Swaraj for announcing her decision to quit Rajya Sabha in the event of Congress president Sonia Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister, the former Bihar Chief Minister said, "Even the ugliest of women cannot stand beauty and virtue of another. She gets influenced by her face."
"Whatever I am saying is not new but several years old. I am not being partisan but only repeating whatever saints and mahatmas have said in past," he said, stressing the Union Minister was also "suffering from the same problem".
Earlier, Yadav paid a visit to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar to enquire about the health of the Maharashtra leader who had recently undergone a surgery. The two leaders are also understood to have discussed the present political situation.
Speaking after meeting Pawar, he said there would be no problem in Government formation and all issues would be solved within the next two days.
