Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar: A 22-member Biju Janata Dal (BJD)-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coalition Ministry headed by Naveen Patnaik was sworn-in in Orissa this evening (May 16, 2004).

Biswabhushan Harichandan, who was elected as the leader of the 32-member BJP legislature party yesterday (May 15, 2004) and the party's State president Manmohan Samal, appointed as deputy leader of the legislature party, are ministers in the new Cabinet.

The BJD-BJP combine defied the national trend to sweep the polls by claiming 61 and 32 seats respectively in the 147- member Assembly.
