Uma Bharti quits to protest Sonia's appointment

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti today (May 18, 2004) said that she has submitted her resignation from the post to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Venkaiah Naidu.

Bharti told reporters that she has resigned to launch a nationwide agitation against Congress president Sonia Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister of the country.
