Hyderabad: Eight days after taking over the reins of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy would constitute his cabinet today (May 22, 2004).

The new ministers would be sworn-in by Governor Surjit Singh Barnala at 11.46 hrs (IST) at Raj Bhavan, official sources said.

About 20 to 22 ministers would be inducted today while expansion would be done at a later stage, according to Congress sources.

Reddy, who steered Congress to a landslide victory in the recent elections, had indicated yesterday (May 21, 2004) that the ministry formation would be done on Monday (May 24, 2004).

The sudden decision to constitute the cabinet today has been taken to enable the Chief Minister to attend the swearing in ceremony of the Union cabinet in New Delhi later in the evening.
