Four mountaineers die attempting to scale Everest

Kathmandu: Four mountaineers three Koreans and one Japanese died while to climb the world’s highest peak, the Mt Everest in the past three days, the Tibetan Mountaineering Association said today (May 22. 2004).

Three South Korean mountaineers and one Japanese female mountaineer died while aiming to climb the Everest from the North face through Tibetan route, a report quoting the Association said.

The Korean mountaineers lost their lives above the altitude of 8,450m on May 19.

The Japanese lady died on way to the Everest yesterday (May 21, 2004), it said.
