Union Cabinet condemns killing of BSF personnel

New Delhi: The Union Cabinet today (May 23, 2004) condemned the brutal attack by militants in Jammu and Kashmir in which 28 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and their family members were killed.

In its first meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Union Cabinet passed a resolution condemning the attack, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan told reporters.

Pro-Pakistan militants triggered a landmine explosion near Woodsa on Srinagar-Jammu national highway which left 28 BSF personnel and their family members dead this morning.

Pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen has claimed the responsibility for it.
