The CPM (Communist Party of India-Marxist) today (May 25, 2004) accepted Congress' offer of Lok Sabha Speaker-ship for veteran Marxist leader Somnath Chatterjee.
"We have considered the Congress offer of Lok Sabha Speaker-ship and agreed to accept it," CPM General Secretary Harkishan Singh Surjeet told reporters after a day-long meeting of the party's politburo.
