New Delhi: Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi today (May 27, 2004) paid tributes to late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 40th death anniversary.

Several Union Ministers including Shivraj Patil and Natwar Singh, besides Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and her cabinet colleagues, along with youth Congress activists also paid tributes to the country's first Prime Minister at 'Shantivan'.

Holy chants rented the air as preachers recited verses.
