'Modi is a Hitler and killer, his exit is certain'
Friday, May 28 2004 12:35 Hrs (IST)

Gandhinagar: Upbeat over nearly 60 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs demanding change of leadership, in Gujarat the Opposition Congress in the State Assembly today (May 28, 2004) mounted a blistering attack on Chief Minister Narendra Modi and said, "His exit is certain."

"The momentum that has gathered against Modi is not going to die down and his exit is certain," Opposition leader Amarsinh Chaudhary said while speaking on the budgetary demands of General Administration Department (GAD).

"Time takes its on course," the development that have taken place for last few days inside the House and outside are clear indication of what is in the offing, he said.

"Modi's condition at present is like Mahabharat's Arjun a great warrior, who had also to face defeat at the hands of a hunter despite all his skills," he said while referring to last night (May 27, 2004) political developments during the birthday party of Rajya Sabha Member A K Patel demanding his removal.

Continuing the tirade, Chaudhary said that even Congress had warned Modi several times that he should tread cautiously without being dictatorial but it always fell on deaf ears.

The Opposition leader further said that it is good that several vigilant MLAs have awakened and they too are echoing the sentiments of Modi's critic that he is a "Hitler and Killer."

Chaudhary was extremely critical about the function of GAD and said that Modi has given them (GAD officials) an open certificate of corruption by directing them to collect money for various functions like Republic Day celebrations, Navratri and Vibrant Gujarat.

The Opposition leader said that under Modi's rule, GAD lost its objectivity and merely worth functioning under his directions.
