Tie-up with AIADMK was only for LS polls: BJP
Sunday, May 30 2004 15:15 Hrs (IST)

Chennai: Virtually ruling out continuation of its tie-up with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in Tamil Nadu, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Venkaiah Naidu today (May 30, 2004) said his party's tie-up with AIADMK was only for Lok Sabha polls.

It was a pre-poll alliance and only for the Lok Sabha polls, he told reporters when asked if the party's alliance with the AIADMK would continue.

"We will decide about alliance when the elections come," he said.

Naidu was talking to newsmen after addressing members of the national executive of the party's Tamil Nadu unit at the State party headquarters here.
