Karnataka to convene Legislature session from Jun 9

Bangalore: The Karnataka Cabinet today (Jun 5, 2004) decided to convene the State Legislature session from June 9.

Briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting following the Ministry expansion which saw induction of 10 Ministers, Chief Minister Dharam Singh (Cong) said Governor T N Chaturvedi would address the joint session on June 11. The session would last till June 16.

The new members would take the oath on June 9 and 10.

Former Minister R V Deshpande would be the pro-term Speaker. The new Speaker would be elected on June 10, he said.
