IGNOU papers leaked; two exams cancelled Saturday, June 5 2004 16:51 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi/Lucknow:
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today (June 5, 2004) cancelled the examinations across the country for Software Engineering and Computer Fundamentals, following leakage of question papers in Uttar Pradesh.
A fresh date for examinations for these subjects would be announced later after looking into the logistical support from other institutions, IGNOU sources said, adding that it may be held sometime in the second or third week of July.
Police in Lucknow had already started inquiry into the leak, they said.
While the question paper of Computer Fundamentals examination was leaked today, the Software Engineering paper was found leaked yesterday.
IGNOU Director in Lucknow, Amit Chaturvedi, said that he received a fax this morning in the form of a questionnaire of Computer Fundamental which when tallied was found to be the same as the original question paper, the examination for which was to be held today.
