Bangalore:
Technology Demonstrator- 2 (TD-2) of India's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), Tejas, today (Jun 5, 2004) made its 100th test-flight in a notable feat in less than two years after the aircraft took to the skies.
After completing total of 103 flights and 55 flying hours, the aircraft is undergoing its scheduled servicing and maintenance checks, an Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) statement said.
So far, three Tejas aircraft together have flown 227 flight test sorties and logged 137 flying hours, covering a wide range of test points, it said.
The fourth Tejas aircraft (PV2) is scheduled to join flight test line later this year, the statement said.
Aircraft handling characteristics were rated "very good" by the pilots, it said.
