Vajpayee admits he was not sure of victory
Sunday, June 6 2004 10:09 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (June 6, 2004) admitted in a veiled manner that he was not sure about victory in the just-held Lok Sabha elections.

Recalling a day when he was the PM and former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar called on him to discuss the venue for launch of the political biography of late socialist leader Jai Prakash Narayan, Vajpayee said, "At that time I had a place but neither me nor Chandrashekharji were sure whether that place will remain with me."

"So a search started for a proper venue for the launch of the book and Chandrashekhar's house was thought to be a proper place for it," he said at a function for the release of the book authored by veteran writer Ajit Bhattacharjea.
