Sensex starts off on strong footing, rallies further Monday, June 7 2004 10:27 Hrs (IST)

The sensex started off on a strong footing and shot up by 58 points within five minutes of the trading on the stock exchange today (Jun 7, 2004) on fresh buying support from investors and firm global advices.
The BSE-30 share sensitive index opened substantially up at 4927.50 as against last Friday's close of 4889.00 and rallied further to 4956.75 at 10.00 hrs (IST), a net gain of 57.75 points.
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE) the S&P CNX Nifty was also quoted higher at 1544.80 at 10.00 hrs (IST) as against last weekend's close of 1521.10, a rise of 23.70 points.
