BSE: Sensex opens firm but surrenders all gains

Mumbai: The Sensex today (June 8, 2004) opened on a firm note at 4960.87, up by 22.72 from yesterday's (Jun 7, 2004) close of 4938.15 and immediately touched a high of 4962.68 within five minutes of trading.

However, profit booking at higher levels pulled down the benchmark to a low of 4922.25 before being quoted at 4925.32 at 10.00 hrs (IST), a fall of 12.43 points.

The S&P CNX Nifty was also quoted down at 1540.85 at 10 hrs (IST) from 1542.55 yesterday.
