Nepal assures security to all Indian establishments Friday, June 11 2004 12:41 Hrs (IST)

Nepal has strongly condemned the Wednesday's (Jun 9, 2004) attack on an Indian-run school by Maoist rebels and assured security to all Indian establishments in the Himalayan kingdom.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba gave the assurance to Indian Ambassador in Nepal Shyam Saran, who is also Foreign Secretary-designate, when he called on him at the Secretariat yesterday (Jun 10, 2004), the Prime Minister's Office said.
Deuba strongly condemned the recent bomb blast by Maoist rebels at the Modern Indian School at Chovar which caused huge damage.
He also assured Saran that Nepal Government would provide security to all Indian establishments in Nepal, the PMO said.
During the meeting they discussed bilateral matters and the current situation in Nepal.
Ambassador Saran thanked the Prime Minister for the warm hospitality extended to External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh during his recent official visit to Nepal.
