China for 'constructive partnership' with India Wednesday, June 16 2004 22:41 Hrs (IST)

China will work with India to push forward the "long-term constructive and co-operative partnership" between the two countries, its Vice Premier Huang Ju said here today (June 16, 2004).
Huang stated this during a meeting with former President K R Narayanan, who is here as a guest of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs to attend the international seminar on the five principles of peaceful co-existence.
The Vice Premier noted that China and India are neighbours and the five principles of peaceful coexistence initiated by the two countries have provided an important guarantee for the sound development of bilateral ties.
He also spoke highly of Narayanan's contributions to bilateral relations and co-operation, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
