Varanasi: Police today (June 16, 2004) arrested 30 Shiv Sena activists who tried to disrupt the screening of controversial Hindi film 'Girl Friend' at a cinema hall in Varanasi.

The Sena activists tried to barge into the Sajan theatre compound and disrupt the noon show of the film but their attempt was foiled, police sources said.

They later staged a demonstration in front of the cinema hall during which 30 of them were arrested, they said.
