Fake encounters: Army shifts Corps Commander
Friday, June 18 2004 20:27 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: With the Siachen Glacier fake killings case in its trial stage, the Army today (June 18, 2004) shifted the Corps Commander of the area appointing Lt Gen M L Naidu as the new commander.

Naidu replaces Lt Gen Arvind Sharma and will take over his new post tomorrow, an Army release said.

The release said that the transfer of Sharma was a "routine" one and had nothing to do with ongoing investigations into the fake Siachen Glacier killings.

The 14 Corps of which Naidu is the new commander comprises Kargil, Leh and Siachen areas.
