CBI sources said the producer had complained to the agency that the Director had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from him to clear television serials meant for Lucknow Doordarshan.

The producer had alleged that the Director demanded an advance of Rs 1 lakh as the "first installment" towards the amount, the sources said. CBI sleuths laid a trap and nabbed Zhingram, they said.
