Bangalore:
The Karnataka CET (Common Entrance Test) Cell has published anew the Engineering and Medical ranks, following revision of the earlier results necessitated by discrepancies in the key answers used for evaluation.
Only the revised Engineering and Medical ranks will be considered for the purpose of seat selection process. However, there is no change in Architecture ranks.
The earlier results were published on 10-06-2004, soon after which a few candidates, parents and the professors represented to the CET Cell about discrepancy in the key answer to a question in the Physics subject.
The CET Cell had published choice number (1) as the key answer for the question number 58 of A1 version and the representations insisted that choice number (3) was the correct answer, which was endorsed by the committee comprising of expert professors of Physics, to which the matter was referred. Following the confirmation of the expert committee that choice number (3) was indeed the correct answer, corrections have been effected for the said question in respect of all the 16 versions of Physics subject.
Similarly, as regards Mathematics subject, the key answer for question number 40 of A2 version was published as choice number (2), which on scrutiny, was found to be the wrong answer with choice number (4) being the correct one.
Action has been taken to host the revised Engineering and Medical ranks and the rectified key answers with regard to all the 16 versions of Physics and only the A2 version of Mathematics subject, on the CET Websites http://kar.nic.in/cet and http://cet.kar.nic.in
The revised rank lists will be published along with the rectified key answers, in all the examination centers of the State on 21-06-2004.
The telephonic announcement of the CET 2004 revised results will also be available through BSNL. The candidates from Bangalore should dial 1255225, outside Bangalore candidates should dial 9580-1255225 and outside Karnataka candidates should dial 080-1255225 for obtaining their revised results. The 'Spice' subscribers can obtain the results by sending their CET number to 555 (for example, if the CET number is KK123, send an SMS with the keyword CET KK123 to 555).
The CET Cell expressed deep regret for the inconvenience caused to the candidates and their parents due to the discrepancy in the key answers.
