New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (June 20, 2004) said there is no proposal to remove Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi "at this juncture".

Party president M Venkaiah Naidu told a press conference after a meeting of the Parliamentary Board that "there is no proposal to change the leadership (in Gujarat) at this juncture. There is no proposal to change the Chief Minister of Gujarat at this juncture".

He was replying to a question whether the meeting took any decision on the fate of Modi.

"All issues were discussed," Naidu said and abruptly ended the press conference when reporters asked him whether the issues raised by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had figured in the three-hour long meeting.
