BJP to constitute committee to go into poll debacle
Sunday, June 20 2004 16:02 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (June 20, 2004) decided to constitute a small committee to go into the reasons for the party's electoral debacle and the report will be discussed in the "brainstorming session" in July.

After a meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board, party president M Venkaiah Naidu told reporters that the National Executive meeting in Mumbai from June 22 will receive reports from States on the electoral debacle and other issues and discuss the "tasks ahead" to take corrective measures in the wake of the electoral debacle.

The "small committee" would consider the feedback from States for taking corrective measures, he said.

All the issues including Gujarat were discussed at the Board, he added.

Naidu said BJP has decided to "leave the past behind and move forward".
