Gujarat to probe the source of anti-Vajpayee SMS

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Government today (Jun 22, 2004) initiated an inquiry into an "obscene and nasty" SMS about former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee doing the rounds since two days.

"An inquiry has been initiated to know the source of this malicious messages against the former Prime Minister," State DGP A K Bhargav said.

A detailed probe will be conducted to know the source of this messages, he said.

An "obscene and nasty" SMS, demanding Vajpayee's removal from the country and other harshly worded messages, have been doing rounds in the region with even former State Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel seeking police intervention to know the source.
