India, Pak close to a solution on Baglihar issue

New Delhi: India and Pakistan today (June 22, 2004) said they were close to a solution on the contentious Baglihar Hydro Power project on the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir.

"We are close very to a solution", Water Resources Secretary V K Duggal told reporters after the secretary-level talks on the Baglihar issue in New Delhi.

"We have covered sufficient ground," Pakistan's Water and Power Secretary Ashfaq Mehmood said, adding, "it is a win-win situation".
