Unidentified gunmen kidnap IRCON engineer, 3 others

Srinagar: Srinagar: Unidentified gunmen today (June 23, 2004) kidnapped four persons, including an engineer working on the prestigious railway line project between Qazigund and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said that they were abducted near Rishipur area in South Kashmir while they were traveling in a Tata Sumo.

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Gopal Sharma said that the matter was being investigated and they were hopeful to trace them soon.

Among those kidnapped was an IRCON engineer Sundhr Kumar Pundir of Uttar Pradesh, his brother and the driver of the vehicle.
