Guj submits report to Home Ministry on encounter
Wednesday, June 23 2004 18:01 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: A week after four alleged terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba, including a woman, were killed in an encounter with Gujarat Police in Ahmedabad, the State Government today (June 23, 2004) submitted its report to the Union Home Ministry on the shootout.

"We have received a report from the Gujarat Government today and the same is being examined," top sources in the Home Ministry said.

Gujarat Police claimed that the four LeT terrorists, including two Pakistanis, killed in the encounter on June 15 were on a mission to assassinate State Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

The sources refused to comment if the report will be forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs for approaching the Pakistan High Commission to claim the bodies of the Pakistani terrorists.
