Wednesday, June 23 2004 16:39 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Multi-crore fake stamp paper scam kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi was today (June 23, 2004) produced by CBI before a Delhi court which directed the agency to take him back to Yerwada jail in Pune from where he was brought here a fortnight back.

Duty Metropolitan Magistrate S K Sharma asked CBI to produce Telgi - who was brought to the court amidst a heavy posse of security personnel - before a Special MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) court in Pune on June 25 as per the orders of that court.

However, the Delhi court also remanded accused Telgi to judicial custody till July 7 in the case of recovery of fake stamp papers worth Rs 220 crore from here almost two years ago.
