K'taka to mobilise funds to pay stipend to unemployed Thursday, June 24 2004 19:44 Hrs (IST)

Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh today (June 24, 2004) said the Government would mobilise funds to fulfil the poll assurance of Congress on payment of Rs 500 monthly dole to unemployed.
Singh was speaking to reporters at this famous shrine after offering pooja along with his family members.
Singh said he would expand his 12-member ministry after the coming budget session and assured representation to Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
Responding to a query, he said the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) would be in place before the budget session adding that Congress and JDS (Janata Dal-Secular), the coalition Government partners, were already working on it.
Singh said he would visit coastal districts after the budget session and review development works.
He said the Government would consider bringing White Supari under the ambit of Minimum Support Price (MSP) to help growers.
Singh who arrived here yesterday with family, offered pooja at the temple and participated in a "tulabharam", ritual in which he was weighed in grapes.
