Leave our matters; mind your business, BJP tells VHP Thursday, June 24 2004 16:21 Hrs (IST)
Mumbai:
Stung by frequent statements by VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) leaders against the party and its leadership, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Jun 24, 2004) hit back asking the Sangh Parivar outfit not to intervene in its affairs.
"We do not agree at all with whatever statements have been issued by VHP leaders against BJP," party president M Venkaiah Naidu told a press conference at the end of three-day party National Executive.
"VHP should leave BJP's matters to BJP," he said sharply reacting to VHP leader Acharya Giriraj Kishore's statement yesterday (Jun 23, 2004) that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee should take "sanyas" (renunciation) if he "sincerely wants to do so".
